Took a couple of portraits while Dundee’s transfer deadline signings spoke to the press – one lit by flash and one not.
First up is striker Rhys Healey who is on loan at Dens from Cardiff City.
Shot with a Canon 5d MkIII and 70-200 f2.8L lens (zoomed to 165mm) – Rhys was lit by a Canon 550ex pointed straight up at the white portion of the ceiling – Shutter speed is 1/200th of a second and aperture is f2.8 – Auto ISO which is limited by flash firing to ISO 400
Next is midfielder Riccardo Calder who is also on loan, this time from Aston Villa
For the picture of Riccardo the flash was recycling and didn’t fire on this frame – Shot with a Canon 5d MkIII and 70-200 f2.8L lens (zoomed to 120mm) – Riccardo is lit from windows on his right (left of image) – Shutter speed is 1/200th of a second and aperture is f2.8 – same settings but (because the flash hasn’t fired) Auto ISO has kicked in and it is a whopping ISO 12800 – if I’d intended shooting with ambient light only I’d have used my 1dx which I think handles really high ISO better, but I think this is very decent.
